Donald Glover (also known as the rapper Childish Gambino) is a renaissance man.
He started of as a writer for 30 Rock (yes, the TV show —for which he earned an Emmy Award), as well as doing standup.
Later, he put that aside to start a music career, in hip-hop. This lead to an underrated debut album, followed by a highly-acclaimed sophomore. Just before Christmas, Glover/Gambino, released his third album “Awaken, My Love” — leaving hip-hop for a funkier vibe. I would highly recommend it.
While recording this album, Glover also worked on a long-standing project he’s produced with his friends: a new TV surrealist comedy called “Atlanta”. Just like his latest album, Atlanta is ‘woke’, unique, funny on its own term, and just great entertainment.
